2027 Cherry Hall Alexander African American History Calendar Nominations

The 2027 Cherry Hall Alexander African American History Calendar celebrates "FROM PRINT TO PIXELS: BLACK CREATORS AND COMMUNICATORS", recognizing individuals who have used communication, storytelling, education, media, and leadership to inform, inspire, and strengthen their communities.

This year’s theme explores how local African Americans have used media to tell their stories, educate and inform the public, strengthen community connections, and shape public discourse while highlighting the evolving role of media and communication in today’s digital-forward age.

NOMINEE ELIGIBILITY
Nominees must:
- Be living and able to attend the 2027 Cherry Hall Alexander African American History Calendar celebration.
- Live in Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, or Gadsden counties.
- Have demonstrated the use of media, newspaper, podcasts, authorship, etc.
- Have demonstrated a commitment to serving others through civic engagement, education, mentorship, advocacy, or related community service.
- Have made a positive and lasting impact on their community through leadership and volunteerism.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
The African American History Calendar Committee will evaluate each nomination based on the scope and impact of the nominee's achievements and the extent to which their efforts have benefited the community.

Please provide detailed information documenting significant accomplishments, leadership, service, and contributions that support your nomination.

Please complete the nomination form in its entirety. Incomplete nominations will not be considered.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
AUGUST 31, 2026
