Cherry Hall Alexander African-American History Calendar 2026 Nomination Form

Tallahassee State College’s African American History Month Calendar Committee invites nominations for the 26th Annual Cherry Hall Alexander African American History Calendar. The 2026 theme, chosen by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, is “A Century of Impact: African Americans in the Military.” This edition will highlight African American service members whose legacy extends from defending our nation to strengthening their communities.


We’re looking for local heroes to feature in the 2026 Cherry Hall Alexander African American History Calendar. Nominees should:

• Have served honorably in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces

• Continued serving others through civic engagement, education, mentorship, or advocacy

• Made a positive difference in their community through leadership and volunteerism

• Live in Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, or Gadsden counties

• Be living and able to join us for the celebration


Note: The committee will evaluate the scope and impact of a nominee’s achievements and the extent to which their efforts have benefited the community. Please document significant achievements and accomplishments related to the nomination.


As a nominator, the committee requests that you complete a nomination form. The African American History Calendar Committee will evaluate the nominations and select individuals to be honored in the 2026 Tallahassee State College Cherry Hall Alexander African American History Calendar.
